Friday Message Review
March 20, 2015
It’s Friday! And, as we say every week…it’s time to start preparing our hearts for Sunday Worship. This Sunday, we will conclude our teaching series, “simple”. So that’s take a sneak peek into Sunday’s scripture.
“Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” – Colossians 4:6
Paul was still speaking of our Christian witness. As followers of Jesus we are to be wise in the way we act and speak to those that don’t know Jesus yet. We are to make the most of every opportunity (see Colossians 4:5). Our speech should be gracious with answers that meet the needs of each person we encounter.
“Throughout His earthly ministry, Jesus demonstrated lifestyle evangelism. Lifestyle evangelism is the sharing of the gospel – done naturally in the daily activities of life. Jesus spoke to people He met as He traveled through Palestine. He didn’t wait to share until Wednesday night small group. He met blind Bartimaeus on the roadside (Matthew 10:46-52) and the Gadarene demoniac on the sea shore. He spoke openly to Zacchaeus at lunch and to Matthew’s friends at supper (Matthew 2:15-17). Jesus took every opportunity to convey live, grace and the power to change lives. And He has called each of us to do the same.
And so He asks us…rather, He invites us to partner with Him in encouraging folks around us with His story – The life-altering story of Jesus.
It’s Friday – Share the encouragement of Christ with someone today.
See you Sunday at Sugar Hill Church.
Go in Peace!
