Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS THE MENTEE/MENTORING JOURNEY?
Sugar Hill Church is starting a mentoring Journey that will be a year-long
commitment that connects women at Sugar Hill Church in a curriculum-based
mentoring relationship to encourage and challenge one another in their walks
with Jesus. The Bible calls women to a higher standard of living following the
commands in Titus 2:3-5, a God-filled life for the sake of the Gospel.

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE?
The Mentor/Mentee journey is open to mentors ages 30+ and mentees must be graduated from High School at the time of application.

WHAT ARE THE MONTHLY AND WEEKLY REQUIREMENTS?
Meetings will happen at your convenience. When it is convenient for you and
your partner to meet. You can pick the place and the time. Try to meet every
other week, in between you can text, email, or make a phone call. When you are
not meeting, we ask that you have devotional time in the Word 5 days a week
using the Flourish Book.

WHAT REQUIRED READING DO YOU HAVE IN THE MENTOR/MENTEE JOURNEY?
We will be using the Flourish Mentor and Flourish Mentee Book for the first year
of our journey.

DO I HAVE TO BE MATURE IN MY WALK WITH CHRIST TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MENTOR/MENTEE JOURNEY?
Absolutely not! But you need to be willing to commit and hold your commitment!
That’s what the Mentoring Journey is for, to help you grow in your walk with Christ. Your mentor is going to help guide you on this journey and point you to Jesus. Will you mentor have all the answers? No, but she is going to walk with you and open scripture with you to help you gain a better understanding of who Jesus is. So, in other words, you need just the right amount of maturity to stick to your commitment and press on to see what God has in store for you without cutting this opportunity short or slacking!

DO I GET TO PICK MY MENTOR?
No, but know that we are very intentional with the matching process. We read every application with intention and much prayer. We consider many factors to provide each mentee with the best mentor possible. As much as possible we will also try to find a mentor in your area of town.

HOW MANY FELLOW MENTEES WILL I HAVE?
Our mentor to mentee ratio will be one on one.

DO I NEED TO CALL SUGAR HILL CHURCH MY HOME TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MENTOR/MENTEE JOURNEY?
Yes, it is required that you call Sugar Hill Church your home or you are involved in a Sugar Hill Women’s Bible study to be a part of the Mentor/Mentee

IS THERE A COST FOR FLOURISH?
The cost is only the curriculum. The cost for the Mentee book is $29.99 and for the Mentor book it is $39.99.

Join us as we study the lives of Isaac, Jacob and Joshua. We will see how God is committed to these three men, the Jewish nation and to us. God is committed even when we're not. God keeps covenant even when we don't. His plans are always accomplished and we have the privilege to be a part of them.

In this in dept BIble study by Beth Moore, A Woman's Heart challenges you to prepare your heart to become a home for His love and glory. Through the tabernacle God initiated a deeper relationship with His chosen people by bringing reconciliation and revealing His glory. And certainly, no Old Testament event so richly prefigures the coming of the true Tabernacle, Jesus Christ.
